FR-1 Fireball

#OTD in 1944 the Ryan FR Fireball made its first flight. It was a piston and jet-powered fighter designed for the US Navy during World War II, it was the Navy’s first aircraft with a jet engine. Only 66 aircraft were built before the end of the war.
