USS Kidd DDG-993

A look back to July 1987 with USS Kidd DDG-993 escorting reflagged Kuwaiti tankers through the Persian Gulf. The Kidd Class was originally destined for the Iranian Navy prior to the revolution, but then was integrated into the US Navy. They had heavy duty air conditioners, additional dust separators on their gas turbines' air intakes, and increased water distillation capacity.
