USS Pensacola LSD-38 (1970)

A look back at USS Pensacola LSD-38 with her anchor chains and anchors on a pier at the Quincy Shipbuilding Division of General Dynamics, Quincy MA, waiting to be loaded, December 1970. The ship used 1,980 feet of chain for two anchors which weigh 22,500 pounds each.
